Winter Solstice Dance
‘The night was cold, but we had warmth in our hearts as we met together to celebrate the shortest day/longest night with old friends and, as the evening progressed, also new friends.
The ‘food to share’ brought a continuing supply of yummiest goodies. Funds were raised for OBee with an ‘Auction of Promises’ and traditional games. Local band Djansa, got feet tapping and led to some very ‘warming’ dancing.
An unexpected treat for dancers, was the music of Decendence with a wonderful assortment of instruments played by Ed, Jess and Gary, and the amazing voice of Carolin, WOW!
The evening ended with a beautiful Circle Dance. We said ‘Farewell’ to the lengthy dark days and ‘Welcome’ to the return of the lengthening daylight.
We left the Celebration with JOY in our hearts from an evening of Community and Belonging.’
