VOLUNTEERING AT ORCHARD BARN

A BIG thank-you to all who came and helped lay cobblestones, cleared the ditch and generally enjoyed the mud!

We are looking for volunteers willing to give a day, a week, weekends (usually the 2nd Weekend every month) or longer.

Please call Sarah on 077660-54042 or email sarah to discuss your availability.

Spring/summer (2011) we can offer you opportunities to learn how to build with Cob (clay, hogging and straw), make an adobe floor, repair flint walls, lay more cobblestones, make and fit oak shingles, split hazel and more .....

Tom Castell from Stowmarket joined our volunteer group in February 2010 - 'Volunteering at Orchard Barn has given me a unique opportunity to learn about traditional building methods, work with like minded people from a variety of backgrounds and nationalities and engage with the management of the site as a whole. I have gained a great deal personally from my involvement and would encourage anyone with an interest in any of the many aspects of the project to get involved.'
