An Introduction to Traditional Timber Frame repairs

On Saturday 7th March 2009, eleven participants gathered in the newly constructed hazel bender at Orchard Barn. What drew them together? A rare opportunity to learn about timber framing and traditional repair joints; how to use classic hand tools; the chance to work with locally sourced green oak, and the experience of working with like-minded others. The day also offered the satisfaction of making a real difference by beginning to make repairs to a run down 17th century timber frame.
