The Tree to Timber Trail
At Orchard Barn, we are keen to show how local trees can usefully be converted into timber. During the summer, we sourced Oaks in woods about 10 miles from the barn. They were due to be felled - whether we bought them or not. Andy Davison brought his fathers mobile saw-mill to the woods to mill the oak. They yielded some beautiful timber that will be used to repair the barn. There may be some Oak to spare. Email Sarah if you'd like to know more about the project, training or availability of Green Oak.
