From tree to timber

In order to show what can be done, and teach how to use local materials and heritage skills, we are looking for funding so we can offer Master Classes in the use of green oak using locally sourced Oak (and probably some Elms). Rick Lewis of www.traditionaloakcarpentry.co.uk will be teaching these classes at Orchard Barn.

We have just received permission from Mid Suffolk District Council Planning and Conservation Department to repair the barn in a 'like for like' way. Since the barn is in the curtilege of a Grade 2 listed building, for planning purposes, it is treated as if it were listed!!
