Volunteer Recruitment - can you help?

As the scope of Orchard Barn expands so too does our need for specialised help to develop different areas of our work.

We are also looking for a volunteer who can take a lead with Events Management. With an exciting year ahead of us, this is likely to include our Heritage Open Day, OBee's 13th birthday, Members Picnic and/or Annual Outing.

In the first instance this person would help Sarah with the Wassail event on Februrary 1st and Love Wood event on 15th September 2020. Subsequent mentoring would be available. Download role description here.

Orchard Barn is moving forward! We need the help of a business advisor who can help us develop our future.  We want to make sure OBee CIC receives adequate financial recompense for services it offers to third parties and sets a good pace for developing its work. More and more, OBee is hosting third party and corporate groups which is putting a strain on our resources.

This role could be suitable for someone studying Business and wanting to build a portfolio of skills and experience OR someone who has retired from the Business world and still has a lot to offer up-coming organisations.

We have a role description we could send to interested parties and are open to suggestions, or download role description here.

RUSTIC CARPENTER/GREEN-WOOD WORKER (This position has now been filled, but monthly 'workshop leaders' are being invited to share their skills - as volunteers)

We are looking for someone who is willing to work with regular volunteers at Orchard Barn one (or possibly two) days a week - preferably 10-4 Thursdays. Possibly provide instruction to new volunteers.

We are hoping to find someone who can take the lead making items using locally sourced greenwood that we can sell at fairs and fetes.

Orchard Barn has a range of traditional hand tools that are available to use. Ideally the person applying for this Volunteer Role would be familiar with using a froe, draw knife, side axe and hand saw. Going forward we would like to be repairing and renovation more of these old tools. Sharpening skills would be a bonus, but can be taught.

For an informal chat about these Volunteer Posts, please phone Sarah on 01473-658193/07766-054042
